Reset Pay It Forward

Making counselling more accessible. Supporting the people who provide it.

At Reset, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to access support, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Pay It Forward has grown from something we already believe in and practise: making counselling more accessible, supporting professional development and investing in the future of our profession.

We recognise that counselling is an investment of time, money and emotional energy. We also understand that counsellors need access to good-quality supervision and ongoing professional support to develop their practice and work ethically.

That’s why Pay It Forward has two aims.

Aim 1

Supporting access to counselling

We want to help people who may otherwise struggle financially to access counselling.

Our aim is to support two clients each month through reduced-fee or fully funded counselling sessions, depending on individual circumstances and the contributions available.

I already offer a number of reduced-fee and, where possible, fully funded sessions within my practice. Pay It Forward is an opportunity for the wider community to help sustain and extend this commitment.

Financial circumstances should not automatically prevent someone from accessing support.

Aim 2

Investing in the counselling profession

We also want to support counsellors in their professional development by helping make supervision more accessible.

Through reduced-fee supervision opportunities, we hope to support counsellors who may find the cost of regular professional supervision a barrier, particularly those developing their practice.

We believe investing in counsellors is also an investment in the people they support.

Reduced-fee supervision will remain subject to suitability, availability and appropriate professional arrangements. All supervision will maintain the same professional, ethical and confidentiality standards.

How you can make a difference

Whether you’re an individual, a former client, a local business or someone who simply believes in making mental health support more accessible, you can contribute towards the initiative.

Every contribution, however small, helps us build opportunities for people to access support and for counsellors to continue developing their professional practice.

Contributions will support both areas of the initiative. The number of supported counselling sessions and reduced-fee supervision opportunities will depend on the funding available.

We want to manage the initiative responsibly and transparently, ensuring that contributions are used to support accessible counselling and professional development.
