For counsellors & students

Support for people in, or entering, the profession.

Student rates, student supervision and practical pathways for counsellors — kept together here for those in training or practice.

For counselling students

In training? Counselling at £30 a session.

If you're studying counselling or psychotherapy, personal therapy is often part of the course — and a good deal of it is required. Reset offers a discounted rate for students in training: £30 for a 50-minute session. A student counselling subscription is also available at £100 a month.

  1. 01

Book the shared assessment (£25, 30 minutes) and tell Reset you're a counselling student. If you have already been assessed, book your next agreed session instead.

  2. 02

Once your student status is confirmed, the £30 student rate is applied to your sessions.

  3. 03

Book and pay for each 50-minute session at the student rate.

The £30 rate isn't shown on the standard booking page — it's applied once Reset has confirmed your student status. A 48-hour cancellation policy applies to all bookings.

Student supervision

£40 · 90 minutes or £20 · 45 minutes

A discounted rate for counselling students committing to regular supervision while in training.

  1. 01

New supervisees: book the shared counselling and supervision assessment (£25, 30 minutes).

  2. 02

Check your course and professional membership requirements before choosing session lengths. Two 45-minute sessions meet Reset’s 90-minute minimum, but do not automatically satisfy every training provider’s requirements; more may be needed.

  3. 03

Choose £40 for a 90-minute session or £20 for a 45-minute session. The student supervision monthly plan is £40 and is a payment arrangement, not a discount.

Please note: Reset does not take on supervision students from Chrysalis training.

A 48-hour cancellation policy applies to all bookings.

Annual leave & planned absences

Planned annual leave will normally be communicated at least two weeks in advance, with clear information about the dates affected. Unexpected absences will be communicated as soon as reasonably possible.

Where possible, appointments are arranged with planned absences in mind. Limited appointments during leave are identified separately; your usual appointment does not automatically continue. Alternative appointments cannot always be offered.

Reset is not a crisis or emergency service, including during leave. In immediate danger call 999; for urgent emotional support call Samaritans on 116 123.
